January 4, 2022

With the return to Alert Level 4 in our province and to control the spread of the Omicron variant, Legal Aid NL offices are closed to the public until further notice.

All in-person client appointments scheduled for January 4 – 17 will be postponed.

All offices are staffed at a minimum capacity and where possible, Legal Aid staff are working remotely.

With the recent return to Alert Level 2 in our province, Legal Aid NL continues to serve existing and new clients, primarily remotely. While we are not accepting walk-in appointments at this time, if your matter or circumstances are such that you feel an in-person meeting is required, please contact your Legal Aid NL lawyer or local office. A listing of telephone numbers for all Legal Aid NL offices can be found here.

February 15, 2021

Effective February 15, 2021, with a return to Alert Level 5 in our province, all Legal Aid NL offices have returned to serving clients remotely. All offices are closed to the public, no in-person meetings will be scheduled until further notice. Phones, mail, and faxes are operational and being monitored regularly.

We continue to process new applications by fax and email. Download the online application or request one be emailed or mailed to you by emailing nlac@legalaid.nl.ca. October 21, 2020

Effective August 24, 2020, Legal Aid NL employees across all offices returned to their physical workspaces. PLEASE NOTE our offices remain closed to the public, so clients must call ahead to arrange in-person appointments. Any person visiting a Legal Aid NL office must complete a COVID-screening questionnaire and comply with the safety protocols to facilitate their in-person appointment. Please contact the Legal Aid NL office in your area to discuss your needs.

July 10, 2020

Legal Aid NL continues to serve clients remotely; however, effective Wednesday, July 15 we will gradually move to in-person appointments. Please note that any person visiting a Legal Aid NL office for an in-person appointment will be required to complete a screening questionnaire and comply with the safety protocols in place to facilitate in-person meetings. Please contact the Legal Aid NL office in your area to discuss your needs and to book an appointment.

June 19, 2020

Effective, Tuesday, June 23rd, all Legal Aid NL offices will move forward with a gradual reopening.
